ECOSF and PSC successfully organized National Science & Innovation Fair 2019 at Karachi, Pakistan

National Science & Innovation Fair 2019 was successfully organized by ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) and Pakistan Science Club (PSC) in collaboration with Usman Institute of Technology (UIT), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and others. The purpose of the Fair was to provide an opportunity and exciting challenge to the students of aged 12-20 years to participate and display their novel ideas and projects. The science talent searched through NSIF’19, the talent would represent Pakistan at national and international level. The participants from all over the country were invited to present and compete their independent research on various fields of science and technology for the solution of local and global engineering problems. NSIF not only contributed towards the social development of the participants but also helped them to think in a rational way to explore the possibilities for the betterment of society using scientific concepts and innovative approach.

Prior to the event, a series of workshops was conducted to spread awareness about the event and to encourage talented students to participate and bring out their talent to make this world a better place. The workshops were not only conducted in schools and colleges but online sessions were also carried out by PSC for the guidance of students reside outside Karachi.

A large number of students along with their mentors, teachers and families participated and witnessed the competition among different schools. Total 30 projects were shortlisted out of 500 registrations. Shortlisted candidates were from different schools and colleges of Pakistan.

President ECOSF Prof. Manzoor Hussain Soomro was the chief guest of the closing ceremony whereas Dr. Prof. Sikander Shirwani (Professor Federal Urdu University), Parkash Lohana (Professor UIT), Bhavani Shankar (Professor MUET), Dr. Zaheer (Director UIT), Partab Shivani (President Thar Education Alliance) witnessed the competition as Special Guests.

All 30 shortlisted projects were evaluated by a technical team of experts and after a very tough competition, three winners were finalized by the judges as under:

1st Prize:         Arbaaz Mahmood of Roots Millennium Future World School, Lahore. Title of the project was Matter-Antimatter Collisions : A way forward in Particle physics

2nd Prize:       Aamna Ahmed of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School. Title of the Project was Smart Aqua Lab

3rd Prize:        Hamza Ibrahim of Govt degree college 36-B Landhi. Title of the project was Paralytic Assist

Top three participants will now participate in 34 th China Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) from July 20th to 26th, 2019, Macao , China on full sponsorship basis. The air tickets will be provided by ECOSF.
