26th Meeting of ECO Regional Planning Council begins on 13 December 2015 at ECO Secretariat Tehran

The 26th Meeting of ECO Regional Planning Council started on 13 December 14, 2015 at ECO Secretariat, Tehran-Iran. The meeting was opened by the Secretary General H.E. Mr. Halil Ibrahim Akca. He warm welcomed all the distinguished guests of member countries and specialized agencies and institutions of ECO. Two member delegation of ECOSF is also participating in the meeting. The main objective of the meeting is to look into the plans decided in last meeting and propose new plans for 2016 in the member countries.

The head of delegations of member counties made their statements on behalf of their countries on the decisions taken in last RPC Meeting. The heads of specialized agencies also delivered their statements. President ECOSF Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro made statement on behalf of ECOSF. In his statement, he thanked the ECO Secretariat for organizing the meeting beautifully and shared the progress on activities/achievements of the Foundation carried out throughout year of 2015. Prof. Soomro in his statement urged the member states to fully support ECOSF so that the objectives of the Foundation can be achieved splendidly through its various scientific activities. Prof. Soomro also appreciated Government of Pakistan (Ministry of Science and Technology) for allocating a Office Space in its newly constructed building.

The five day meeting will be continued till 17 December 2015 and various plans for 2016 will be presented and discussed.
