President ECO Science Foundation visited  IBA Community Colleges

ECO Science Foundation being a strong proponent of inquiry based science education (IBSE) is conducting a capacity building of Sukkur IBA Community Colleges teachers in collaboration with La main a la pate France and Pakistan Science Foundation in Islamabad from 5-9 Sept 2016. President ECOSF visited IBA Sukkur to take presentations from the participants of IBSE workshop. After the presentations, a question answer session was carried out to evaluate the participants of workshop.

Dr. Soomro in line to this also visited IBA community college khairpur and observed students inquiry based projects. He inquired the students about their projects and was impressed with the knowledge and science experimentations done by the 8th and 9th grade students in a rural setting. Dr. Soomro highly appreciated and motivated the students to conduct and contribute in the society.

Prof. Soomro also visited the Botanical garden and research centre of biodiversity at Shah Abdul Latif university (SALU) at khairpur. It is worth mentioning that research centre of biodiversity at SALU was developed by Prof. Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti with the support of Higher Education Commission to promote research and preservation of  biodiversity.

Subsequently President ECOSF visited Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology (QUEST) Nawabshah, Sindh and held a meeting with Vice Chancellor of QUEST  Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Baloch and discussed the possible collaboration of Pakistan Institutes with ECO member states in science, technology and innovation. He also visited Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (SBBUVAS) at Sakrand, and had a meeting with the VC of SBBUVAS Prof.  Dr. Khuda Bakhsh Mirbahar. Prof Soomro also visited the laboratories of SBBUVAS and   appreciated its establishment since; it will play a very vital role in development of livestock sector and will uplift the socioeconomic status of farming community.
