Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan and Governor of Isfahan, Iran discussed the Matters of Mutual Interests

The Minister for Science and Technology of Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and Governor of Isfahan Province of Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. Abbas Rezaei met at the Governor’s Office in beautiful and historical city of Isfahan on July 9, 2019. The Governor cordially welcomed the Minister at his office and gave a brief overview of the city and province of Isfahan. H.E. Mr. Rezaei gave a historical account of the city, which was built during the Safavid Dynasty when the Capital of the Dynasty was shifted to Isfahan from Qazvin city. He further said that the beautiful architectural structures built during the Safavid Dynasty are now recognized as symbols of Iranian art around the region. The Governor also talked about the potential of trade with Pakistan, especially of carpet and marble industries of the province.
H.E. Mr. Chaudhry thanked the Governor for the warm welcome and fine hospitality. He further expressed that he is impressed about the magnificent historical art of the city. The town planning of the city is very well thought, designed and inspiring, especially the Imam Square formerly known as Nagsh-e-Jahan Square, he said. The Minister also shown the keen interest in the carpet industry of Iran. The Minister said that there is a great potential of trade between both the countries being and it can be boosted to get more benefits of neighbourhood.
The Minister was accompanied by Pakistan Ambassador to Iran H.E. Mrs. Riffat Masood and President ECOSF Prof. Manzoor H. Soomro during the meeting. It is pertinent to mention that the Minister was in Isfahan due to 4th Meeting of ECOSF BoT.
