President ECOSF called upon the Director General of Multilateral and International Economic Cooperation and Permanent Representative of Iran to ECO to ECO, Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On October 1, 2024, President ECOSF Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, met with Dr. Seyed Jalaledin Alavi Sabzevari, Director General of Multilateral and International Economic Cooperation and Permanent Representative of Iran to ECO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on strengthening ECOSF's collaboration with Iran and addressing key issues critical to the Foundation’s mission.

Prof. Tayebi presented a report on ECOSF’s programs and initiatives aimed at fostering regional collaboration in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) amongst the ECO Member Countries. He highlighted the work being done across the ECO region to promote sustainable development through STI. Prof. Tayebi also expressed gratitude to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its ongoing support for ECOSF’s mission and activities. A key topic of the discussion was Iran’s mandatory budget contributions and arrears to ECOSF. Both sides emphasized the importance of addressing this issue promptly to ensure the sustainability of ECOSF’s programs and initiatives.

Both Prof. Tayebi and Dr. Alavi Sabzevari underscored the pivotal role of ECOSF, which plays in promoting regional STI collaboration. They mutually agreed on the necessity of continued support from the Government of Iran to enable ECOSF to achieve its full potential.
