August 25, 2024: At the National Science and Technology Fair (NST Fair) held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, ECOSF trainers Ms. Elaheh Ranai Rad and Ms. Zeinab Sadat Tayebi conducted engaging workshops on Persian traditional and ancient toys for STEAM education. These workshops were a highlight for the attending Thai children and their families.
The workshops were divided into two sessions. The morning session focused on creating an optical illusion toy known as "TABLAK and VIZVIZHAK." This activity aimed to help children understand the basic principles of visual perception and how the eyes and brain work together to interpret images.
In the afternoon, participants worked with a Persian toy called the “RATTLE.” Children crafted their own rattles using a variety of materials, including plastic, wood, metal, fabric, silicone, and natural elements such as seeds, pebbles, and bones. They explored how different materials and shaking speeds affect the sound produced by the rattle. The activity allowed children to investigate various physical characteristics, including size, color, shape, and volume, and understand how these features influence the sound.
The workshops were well-received by attendees, particularly Thai families, and demonstrated successful collaboration between the Thai and Iranian teams in organizing this enriching event.
