ECOSF participated in the VisioSpark 2024: Showcasing Innovation and Entrepreneurship at COMSATS University

COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, hosted VisioSpark 2024, marking the 20th   anniversary of this national-level IT and engineering event. Since its inception in 2003, VisioSpark has provided a dynamic platform for students and young entrepreneurs to present innovative startup ideas and technological solutions addressing local challenges.

Over 1,000 students from 52 universities across Pakistan showcased their projects. Participants engaged in various competitions, including software project exhibitions, coding challenges, mobile app development, and engineering design contests, fostering a spirit of innovation and technical excellence.

Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, President of the Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF), graced the event as the Guest of Honor. In his keynote address titled "Leveraging Science, Technology, and Innovation to Drive Startup Growth," Prof. Tayebi emphasized the important role of startups in the global economy, noting that Startups contribute enormously to the global GDP, with a worth of approximately US$3 trillion. They play a significant role in job creation, driving innovation, and spurring economic growth."He highlighted the potential within the ECO region and underlined that the region, being a source of highly educated and skilled labor—especially youth—can serve as a promising incubator for new high-tech businesses.

Prof. Tayebi also interacted with students, reviewing startup competitions and offering insights to young entrepreneurs.

Earlier, Prof. Sajid Qamar, Rector of COMSATS University, commended the participants for their innovative ideas and underscored the COMSATS university's commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Prof. Qamar lauded that the Graduates of CUI are diligently playing their role for progress of Pakistan as well international community though their projects and startups. Dr. Muhammad Abid, Campus Director of CUI Wah, also highlighted the importance of such events in bridging the gap between academia and industry, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges. He said that the Visio Spark is an idea of culmination of innovation and entrepreneurship.
