Localization of Water, Energy and Food Nexus workshop organized by the PCRWR and Asia Foundation- ECOSF joined in the Closing Ceremony of Consultation

Two days Consultation Workshop on Localization of Water, Energy and Food Nexus to Pakistan’s Local Governance was concluded at PCRWR Head Office on December 11, 2019. During the concluding ceremony, Mr. Farid Alam of The Asia Foundation-Pakistan, Dr. Sagar Parsai of The Asia Foundation- Nepal, Mr. Ahmad Kamal, Chairman of Federal Flood Commission and Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PCRWR gave their closing remarks. On behalf of ECOSF, Engr. Khalil Raza Scientific Officer participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sagar Parsai emphasized on the importance of designing projects in the line of nexus policies. While delivering synthesis report, Mr. Farid Alam, Director Programme, The Asia Foundation highlighted the importance of awareness, rainwater harvesting and information systems for the management of water food, energy and climate nexus in Pakistan.
The Chairman, Federal Flood Commission, Mr. Ahmad Kamal remarked that each policy is important but needs to be implemented with the consultation at local stakeholders. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman, PCRWR concluded the session by taking oath from the participants for conserving water and food in daily lives. The Chairman, PCRWR extended his gratitude to the participants as well as acknowledged the foreign and local experts for making the workshop a successful event.
