On April 28, Mr. Khalil Raza, Programme Manager Energy & Climate at ECOSF, represented the ECOSF at the Beijing Auto Show in China. His experience shed light on the automotive industry's shift towards electric mobility and cutting-edge innovation.

  • Rapid Innovation in China: Chinese OEMs are leading the way with impressive speed, moving from initial design to mass production in just 18 months, a stark contrast to the 48 months typical for legacy automakers.
  • Xiaomi's Smarcars: Xiaomi, renowned for its mobile phones, surprised the industry with the Xiaomi SU7, boasting 4 seats, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, and priced at $29,000, marking a significant entry into the automotive sector.
  • Game-Changing Battery Technology: CATL unveiled a groundbreaking lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a remarkable driving range of over 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) on a single charge, signaling advancements in electric vehicle technology.
