President ECOSF participated in the Webinar on "Introduction to Iran and Malaysia's Capabilities in the Field of Cell Therapy"

The Health and Beauty Center, Isfahan and Dr. Mina Brand, in collaboration with the 23rd Century International Life Science Centre, Malaysia, and Iran- Kuala Lumpur International Chamber of Commerce (KLICC) hosted an International Webinar on Introduction to Iran and Malaysia's Capabilities in the Field of Cell Therapy on August 7, 2023.

The international served as a pivotal platform for the exchange of expertise, experiences, and the enhancement of scientific collaboration among Islamic countries.

‏During this session, H.E. Mr. Omar Khairi, the Malaysian Ambassador, expressed his thanks to the organizers and highlighted Malaysia's activities in the field of cell therapy. He expressed optimism that such forums would lay the groundwork for more extensive cooperation between Iran and Malaysia, thereby facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

president ECO Science Foundation, Professor Seyed Komail Tayebi who was specially invited to the webinar, expressed his thanks to the organizers. Prof. Tayebi reiterated the Foundation's mission of introducing and cultivating scientific opportunities within the ECO region. He emphasized that events like this would increase interactions between ECO Member Countries and beyond while showcasing scientific and research capabilities.

‏Dr. Mina Rezaei, Director of the Health and Beauty Center, and the Founder of Dr. Mina Brand stated that Iran ranks among the top twenty countries in the field of cell therapy worldwide. She emphasized the focus on cell therapy in the future of the medical industry and the need for development and strengthening this domain of knowledge.

Dr. Dana Raj, a researcher in Stem Cells at the 23rd Century Institute, Malaysia elaborated on the capacities, methods, and services provided by the institute in Malaysia. He added the institute provides the best cell product by having strict extensive' start-to-finish 'quality control protocol and GMP standard laboratories, which include following capabilities:

  • Laboratory standards for clinical-grade adult stem cell processing
  • Safety and quality control system for clinical-grade adult stem cells
  • Research and management system for clinical-grade adult stem cells
  • Laboratory standards for clinical-grade adult stem cell processing
  • Disease-specific translation protocols for clinical-grade adult stem cells.

‏Dr. Shafiei, the Head of the Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Institute in Isfahan Healthcare City, explained Iran's capabilities, advancements, and progress in the field of cell therapy and cancer treatment.

‏In the end, Dr. Hadi Shahpar, Chairman of Iran - Kuala Lumpur International Chamber of Commerce (KLICC), emphasized the extensive opportunities between the two Islamic Countries and the importance of international collaboration, particularly through the potential of the private sector with a focus on developing the Halal Industry and health tourism. He appreciated all participants in attending the webinar.
